Whether football or preference: how the super high roller ended at WPT Russia-2019

The deal that took place in the high roller tournament of the Russian stage of the WPT will probably go down in history, because there was very little of poker in it - more from football or preference. But if she is related to the favorite sport of millions by the number of players who, willingly or not, got into the prizes, then with the respectable card game - the way with which the outcome of the tournament was decided.

Experienced preference players sometimes only need to see their own cards in order to understand what the opponents have in their hands, and then, to save time, the distribution is not played, but its result is spoken aloud. Approximately the same happened on WPT Russia - the offer for a deal was made immediately after the border of the prize zone was marked.

And it followed from Dmitry Gromov - an experienced poker fighter and a real professional who has played around one and a half million dollars in "live" games. Ubiquitous Anatoly Filatov, who played at the same table and reached the prizes, according to him, was incredibly surprised: after all, Gromov was only seconds away from breaking the rules of the World Poker Tour!

Even the tournament director of the Russian WPT stage Sergey Petin at first he did not understand what he was talking about, and refused to Dmitry, explaining the refusal by the fact that there were only thirty-one entries in the tournament. However, the rest of the players have already come to their senses, and a heated discussion began between the supporters and opponents of such a "quick" deal.

Those who insisted on dividing the prize money won, although it was clear even without a calculator: this is beneficial for the most part to the chip leader, and NL_Profit in this situation, it would have risen to a maximum of fourth place. By the way, there was another hitch with the calculation: the organizers spent a lot of time looking for a reliable tournament calculator.

However, Filatov did not have to be upset. Having failed to win the super high roller tournament, Anatoly turned his attention to 3-max, where he did become the leader in the stack, and after the deal took place here too, he received his winnings and the winner's cup due to him.
